Title

CUCINA POVERA

The Mediterranean Diet -based on vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and fruits- is considered to be the healthiest in the world and is served everywhere from street cafés to exclusive Michelin-starred restaurants. It was, however, born out of poverty, created by communities of farmers and fishermen living across the Mediterranean for centuries. Cucina Povera discovers why this common tradition of the poor is relevant to us today. Combining contemporary observational scenes with interviews with prominent scientists and film archive, it helps us understand the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet for our health and for the planet.
